This work sample demonstrates evidence of student learning in relation to aspects of the achievement standards for Year 9 and 10 What do you like to watch? . The primary purpose for the work sample is to demonstrate the standard, so the focus is on what is evident in the sample not how it was created. The sample is an authentic representation of student work and may contain errors such as spelling mistakes and other inaccuracies. In this work sample students: • initiate and sustain Chinese language to exchange and compare ideas and experiences about their own and others’ personal world • use structures and features of spoken and written Chinese to create texts • apply features of the Chinese sound system to enhance fluency, and discern differences in patterns of sound and tone in spoken language • demonstrate understanding of the sound system in spoken exchanges and use sentence and grammatical structures to interact, make meaning and create texts.
